SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A fundraising campaign for Primary Children's Medical Center is getting under way.
From Tuesday through Oct. 15 volunteers will go door-to-door seeking donations for the Pennies by the Inch campaign. Every cent raised goes to help children at the Salt Lake City hospital.
Last year the hospital spent more than $13.3 million to cover more than 11,300 hospital visits by needy children.
The hospital has 259 beds that hold the most critically ill and injured children in a five-state area. Primary Children's is the only full-service children's hospital in the Intermountain West. It's also one of ten pediatric trauma one hospitals in the nation.
