Randall Jeppesen, KSL NewsradioA man suspected of killing his eight month old child over three years ago will finally be going to trial after being arrested numerous times since then.
Christopher Kale's child died in July of 2003. Court papers show the infant had internal bleeding, bruises, burns, was malnourished and dehydrated. Kale was charged with murder. But since then court records show he's been released and arrested more than a half dozen times for driving on a suspended license, auto theft, possession of stolen property and more.
Salt Lake County Prosecutor Bob Stott: "Normally people who are charged with murder who don't make bale and are not out, obviously if they are still in jail the case goes quicker."
Salt Lake County prosecutor Bob Stott says this isn't normally what happens, but he says even one case like this is too many.
