PARK CITY -- A fast-moving grass fire quickly spread Thursday afternoon and threatened several homes before firefighters were able to put out the flames.

The fire was burning behind homes on Whileaway Road near Silver Creek Junction just before 2 p.m.

Residents were fighting the fire with garden hoses when firefighters arrived.

The flames got within 10 to 20 feet of structures before firefighters were able to get it under control.

Residents had to quickly move horses out of harm's way.

No one was hurt and no structures were damaged.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
