UTAH COUNTY -- Two women are in jail following a back-to-school shoplifting spree.
Police received a report of a stolen Lexus Tuesday night. A short time later they spotted the car and pulled it over. The Deseret News reports a man inside the car admitted to two auto thefts.
Two women in their 20s also were inside the car. Court documents state the women admitted they had just been on a back-to-school shoplifting spree at the University Mall. Police say the women failed to pay for the 80 pieces of clothing worth more than $1,400 that came from The Gap and The Children's Place.
According to the Deseret News, a police report says officers found pliers, a screwdriver, wire cutters--tools that might come in handy to disable anti-theft devices--inside a purse in the car.
Everyone inside the vehicle was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail.
