Paul Nelson Reporting For some people this week marks the beginning of a depressing season. Psychotherapists say many people could start to feel a Christmas let-down.
Therapists say there could be many reasons for depression during the holiday season.
Julie Hanks, Wasatch Family Therapy Psychotherapist: "If it's the first holiday without a loved one it can also bring up old family dynamics."
But, she says people may not be let down by Christmas, per se. They just expect to be extremely happy all around during the holidays.
Julie Hanks: "People reflect on where they are in life in general, too, like, ‘Another year went by and I'm still at this job and I'm unhappy."
Hanks says many people make New Year's resolutions to clear up any unresolved issues, like frustrations with relationships or work.
