SALT LAKE CITY -- Police are looking for a man who stole the contents of saddlebags on a police bicycle.

On Aug. 11, Granite School District police say the suspect entered the Granite Education Center at 2500 S. State St. at approximately 8:20 p.m., found the patrol bike in an open closet and walked it outside.

Once outside he removed the items and was either scared off or abandoned the bicycle on the property.

The suspect is described as:

  • Approximately 25 years old
  • Dark, short hair and a mustache
  • 5 feet 10 inches tall
  • 155 pounds
  • Was wearing Cutoff jeans with sandals and white socks

This is the second theft in the last two weeks at this facility. The thefts are not related.

A suspect in the first theft has been identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
