WEST JORDAN — West Jordan police are urgently searching for four children believed to have been taken overseas by their biological mother, in violation of a joint custody agreement.
A temporary emergency protective order and a no-bail arrest warrant were issued for 35-year-old Elleshia Anne Seymour, who is now charged with four counts of custodial interference, a third-degree felony.
The missing children are:
- Landon Hal Seymour, 10
- Levi Parker Seymour, 8
- Hazel Rae Seymour, 7
- Jacob Kurt Brady, 3
Kendall Seymour, father to the three oldest children, last saw his kids on Nov. 24-25, when he dropped them off at school at the start of their mother's scheduled custody time.
"She's been planning this because she took off on the 30th of November during my long custody break … for Thanksgiving," Kendall Seymour said.
Kendall Seymour said he first realized something was wrong when the children's babysitter called on Dec. 2, asking why they hadn't gone to day care.
"It's been three weeks now," he said, describing how completely the situation blindsided him. "She has no family in Europe. As far as I know, no contacts out there."
According to charging documents, Elleshia Seymour "recently discussed obtaining passports and leaving the country, expressing concerns about biblical events and 'the end of times'" with her ex-boyfriend.
In her West Jordan apartment, detectives also found a notebook containing plans to shred documents, discard phones and take passports.
Surveillance footage from the Salt Lake City International Airport also captured Elleshia Seymour and the kids entering the airport, "where they boarded a one-way flight bound for Amsterdam and ending in Croatia." Later, in a Dec. 2 voicemail to her other ex-husband, "she claimed to be in France with the children, stating she was looking for a permanent residence and needed to get the children out because the 'end times' were coming."
Kendall Seymour said he was unaware of any of these beliefs and is concerned "she's not in the right mind."
"I didn't know about any of these ideas of hers until a couple of weeks ago, when someone found her TikTok account. … She thinks Salt Lake is going to be destroyed and she is trying to get the kids to safety. My only hope is that she is motivated to protect them," he said. "There were no signs of that when we were married or divorced in the last five years."
Authorities appear to share those worries. According to charging documents, a no-bail arrest warrant was requested, given concerns "many witnesses have expressed … indicating she has previously suffered from emotional breakdowns and hallucinations."
For Kendall Seymour, the focus is singular: bringing his children home.
"I just want the kids to be found," he said. "I would tell them I love them and I want to see them for Christmas."
West Jordan police are asking anyone with information about the children's whereabouts to contact them immediately.
A GoFundMe* was established to help Kendall Seymour travel to Europe to pick them up when they are found.
