VERNAL -- A Vernal man drowned Friday at Steinaker State Park. He is the fourth person to drown this week.

Officials say the 19-year-old and his friend were playing with a floating device when it got away from them. Both swam after it, but the man started to struggle and slipped under the water.

His body was found 12 feet down and 40 feet from shore.

Three other people drowned this week -- one in Lake Powell, one in Tony Grove Lake and another in Palisade Reservoir.
