HERRIMAN -- Herriman City has a new Main Street. Instead of cutting a ceremonial ribbon Wednesday, the mayor drove through it and opened the new road.
The new thoroughfare is part of an $8 million project that will provide key transportation access to the Herriman Towne Center, which is a unique master-planned community located on 375-plus acres including a mix of civic, residential, retail and recreational space.
The county recreation center, county library and new elementary school are also part of the community.
Construction on the project is expected to last 10 months.
