SALT LAKE COUNTY -- An overturned trailer snarled traffic on Interstate 80 Thursday afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m., a Jeep pulling the trailer on westbound I-80 lost control near Lamb's Canyon, causing the trailer to overturn blocking two lanes of traffic.

About a half an hour later, slowing traffic eastbound caused another accident blocking one lane of traffic.

The Utah Highway Patrol says a car rear-ended a semi truck trailer.

The driver of the car was trapped inside and had to extricated.

It took nearly 2 hours to clear the scene.
