SOUTH SALT LAKE -- A South Salt Lake man faces charges for allegedly attempting to burn down the apartment building where he lived out of protest.
Police say Lance Levart was angry over late fees he was charged by the property owner. In response, he poured gasoline on the floor of his apartment and ignited it.
The subsequent fire caused more than $600,000 in damage to the building.
Levart is now charged with aggravated arson, criminal mischief and obstruction of justice charges.
