SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Utah Highway Patrol trooper has been hurt after his car was rear ended on Interstate 15.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cameron Roden says the trooper was conducting a traffic stop on the right shoulder of southbound I-15 near South Salt Lake early Friday when a car drifted off the road.

The trooper was inside the car when it was hit from behind about 1 a.m., The Salt Lake Tribune reported on its Web site Friday.
