OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A former quarterback for Oklahoma and Utah will get to make his first start with an arenafootball2 team.

Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz head coach Sparky McEwen announced Tuesday that Tommy Grady will take to the field Saturday against Bossier-Shreveport at the Cox Convention Center.

Grady, a highly recruited standout from California, signed with the Sooners in 2003 and was backup quarterback to Heisman Trophy winner Jason White the following season.

After falling behind Rhett Bomar and Paul Thompson on the depth chart in 2005, he transferred to Utah, only to see Thompson moved to wide receiver and Bomar dismissed from the team.
