SUMMIT COUNTY -- A motorcyclist died Friday after he collided with a car coming down Interstate-80 in Parley's Canyon.

Utah Highway Patrol says a car swerved to avoid slowed traffic near Jeremy Ranch, and ended up in the biker's lane.

The biker hit his brakes to avoid the car, but couldn't slow down in time. He slammed into the back of the vehicle, flipped several times and was thrown from the bike.

The man was not wearing a helmet and suffered massive head trauma. Air Med crews flew the victim to the University Medical Center.

He died ten minutes after arriving at the hospital.
