BOUNTIFUL -- A Bountiful man was seriously injured Wednesday evening in a scooter crash.

Police say he was riding a scooter near 400 North and 100 West. A truck was stopped at a stop sign, and the cyclist drove through the intersection just as the truck started to go again.

"The truck, from what we can tell so far, didn't see the scooter, pulled out in front of him, and the scooter hit the side of the truck," said Bountiful police Sgt. Todd Hixson.

The man on the scooter suffered a head injury and a fractured femur.

Police are investigating and tell us if they cite anyone, it will be the truck driver.
