David Letterman apologized - really - last night on his show. This after CBS lost a big sponsor and some groups have been calling for his firing. Letterman said he takes full responsibility, and that his intent is completely irrelevant if he caused offense. "It's my fault the joke was misunderstood." ABC Newsman Sam Donaldson says it will take more than this to remove Sarah Palin's Dan Quayle impression with the American people, but as far as this one goes - round one to Palin. Sam also talked about the situation in Iran and whether or not President Obama should do or say more in response to the protests in that nation. Another interesting morning with Sam. It's a sign of the times. Some American women are now fearing taking the maternity leave they are entitled to for fear that their jobs will be eliminated while they're gone. Kate Snow reported for Good Morning America that these women don't blame their companies. They don't feel like they're trying to be squeezed out. They know it's just a function of the economy.
