SALT LAKE -- A 66-year-old man was critically injured when more than 4,000 pounds of PVC window frames fell on him Friday morning.
Officials say the man was delivering the window frames to the Amsco window factory at 1880 S. 1045 West in Salt Lake. As he was getting them off the truck, the load shifted and landed on him.
"The workers here at Amsco immediately started removing the bundles from him and were able to get those off and immediately called 911," Mark Bednarik, with the Salt Lake City Fire Department, said.
Amsco plant manager Shawn Jager says luckily workers had a crane. "Just a situation you don't want to see ever happen to anyone, whether they work for you or not," he said.
The man was flown to the hospital in extremely critical condition with injuries to his chest and torso.
