SALT LAKE CITY -- Students and faculty from the University of Utah medical school paid tribute to those who donated their bodies to science.

A special memorial at the Salt Lake City Cemetery Friday afternoon honored the 121 people who gave their bodies for science and research at the University of Utah last year.

This service, held just prior to the Memorial Day weekend each year, gives closure to the families and gives the students and the university the opportunity to express their sincere gratitude.

Professors say the Volunteer Body Donor program elevates their ability to educate.
