SALT LAKE COUNTY -- Prosecutors have charged a man who crashed his Corvette into a semi truck, killing his passenger.
Chad Moyes is charged with automobile homicide and speeding. Prosecutors say he was driving 90 miles an hour, which was twice the speed limit, when he crashed near 11900 South and 1300 West last November.
He told investigators he did not see the trailer before he collided with it. Charging documents say Moyes also had been drinking.
Both Moyes and his passenger, Carlos Contreras, were pulled out of the burning car. Contreras died from massive head trauma.
