SALT LAKE CITY -- If you're planning on sharing your summer trip on Facebook or Twitter, experts are giving some friendly advice: Don't overdo it.

Joanne Sopoto is traveling through Salt Lake from Kansas on her way to California. She plans to share some of that trip on Facebook and Twitter, but not all of it.

She already has friends she thinks have overdone it.

"They tell us about the time they came to the airport, the time they left, the time they arrived and all that useless stuff. I want to know what they did while they were traveling," she said.

Travel experts say while you may be enjoying every unique part of your vacation, your friends may not necessarily care about constant and mundane updates.

Experts also say telling everyone on your friends list that you're out of town may lead to tipping off a potential burglar.

Some think overdoing it can also rob you of vacation time.
