SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A man employed as a 'house parent' at a treatment center for troubled girls has been charged with rape for an alleged relationship with a 17-year-old resident.
Court papers filed May 11 in 3rd District Court charge Jonathan R. Carver with four counts of rape, two counts of forcible sodomy and one count of tampering with a witness.
Prosecutors contend Carver, 29, of Kaysville, had sex more than 20 times with a teen girl living at the Alpine Academy in Erda, Utah during 2008.
Carver and his wife were house parents for eight months at the facility which treats teens for emotional and behavioral problems. They were fired in March when the school learned of the investigation.
Carver was arrested and is being held in the Tooele County jail.
