LAYTON -- Fire caused more than $100,000 in damage to a Layton restaurant.
A passer-by noticed heavy smoke coming out of the Gabor Brothers restaurant at 197 N. Main Street around 11:30 Thursday night and alerted authorities.
When fire crews arrived, they found the fire had started in the kitchen and then spread to the attic and the roof of the building. They were able to douse the flames in less than 20 minutes, but the fire still caused extensive damage.
The cause is under investigation.
