DRAPER -- Nine hundred customer service agents currently work at the eBay customer service center in Draper. Wednesday they learned they'll be getting some new coworkers when the company announced plans to add an undetermined number of jobs there later in the year.

"It's a major center for us, and has been for many years. It provides the organization with a tremendous amount of support, so it's a critical facility for us," said John Pluhowski, a vice president for eBay Inc.

In September, eBay will consolidate its North American customer service facilities. It will close a Vancouver, Canada, facility and move jobs to Draper and other centers.

Back in December, eBay announced a separate expansion that will generate 50 jobs and tens of millions in tax revenue. It will also build a next-generation data center in South Jordan's Daybreak Commerce Park.
