MOAB, Utah (AP) -- A southern Utah wilderness preserve damaged by a wildfire last fall is reopening.
Fire scorched more than 400 acres of the Scott M. Matheson Wetlands Preserve near Moab in October. It burned vegetation, portions of a boardwalk and a wildlife viewing area.
The preserve has been closed since then as The Nature Conservancy and state workers made repairs and re-seeded the area.
A reopening ceremony for the preserve is scheduled for Saturday.

The 895-acre preserve was established in 1990 and is home to more than 200 species of birds, amphibians and mammals.
