(KSL News) - Here are the results of the Dan Jones Exit Polls as the polls close at 8 p.m.
In the race for U.S. Senator, Dan Jones exit interviews project Orrin Hatch will keep his seat, winning 62% of the vote to challenger Pete Ashdown's 37%.

U.S. House District 1: KSL projects Rob Bishop will return to Washington, defeating Steve Olsen, 64 to 35%.

U.S. House District 2: Jim Matheson will serve a 4th term in congress. Dan Jones exit polls show him ahead of Republican LaVar Christensen 57% to 42%. That makes Christensen the strongest congressional challenger.

U.S. House District 3: Democrat Christian Burridge won't succeed in his attempt to unseat Chris Cannon. KSL projects Cannon takes a 6th win 62% to 37%.

In Salt Lake County where party control of the County Council is up for grabs: In the at Large seat "C", incumbent Democrat Jim Bradley 55%, Republican Janice Auger 44%, the former Taylorsville Mayor.

District Attorney - this is tonight's nail biter: Dan Jones finds this contest between Republican Lohra Miller and Democrat Sim Gill too close to call.
And the upset headline of today's Utah election: Long-time Salt Lake County Sheriff Aaron Kennard gets drubbed out of office by one of his deputies, Jim Winder, by the astonishing projection of two to one.

And in the race for Salt Lake County Clerk --the officer who makes it possible for many of us to cast our votes - Long-time incumbent Sherrie Swensenthe projected winner with 61% to challenger Carrie Dickson's, 38%.

Salt Lake County Proposition 3 (0.25% sales tax for commuter rails, TRAX and road projects) turns out to be popular. 65% of County voters voted themselves a tax increase.
