SOUTH SALT LAKE -- The suspect in another hit-and-run in South Salt Lake was caught after he was involved in another accident.
Police say Osvaldo Patino was involved in a crash at 3300 South and 300 East shortly before 10:00 Tuesday night. He left the scene, and a witness gave chase.
Officers say when Patino realized he was being followed, he lost control of his vehicle while trying to lose his pursuer.
That's when he crashed into a fence in Holladay, got out of the car and tried to get away on foot. A K-9 team tracked the man down in a wooded area.
Salt Lake County sheriff's Lt. Jason Johnson said, "The dog engaged the suspect inside a shed where he was hiding. The suspect attempted to fight the police dog."
Patino now faces numerous charges, including one related to an outstanding felony warrant for a forgery case out of Salt Lake City.
