SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah State Parks officials say they will address a 15 percent budget reduction of $1.8 million by reducing hours at museums.
The hours of operation at seven state parks museums, which include the Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum in Fillmore and the Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum in Blanding, will be reduced, though it's not yet clear by how much.
Mary Tullius, director of the Division of Parks and Recreation, says all of the state's 43 parks and programs will be affected by the cuts but that the museums and administrative offices are being hit the hardest.
The division gets $12 million a year from the state's general fund to manage parks and museums as well as state boating, off-highway vehicle and trails programs.
