BRIGHAM CITY, Utah (AP) -- A man charged in the 1984 murder of a Brigham City convenience store clerk will have his trial moved out of Weber County.
Wade Maughan is one of two defendants charged in the murder of Bradley Newell Perry. Perry was working the night shift when he was bound and stabbed at a gas station on U.S. 89.
The crime remained unsolved for 21 years, but DNA linked Maughan and Glenn Griffin to the crime in 2005.
In November, a jury convicted Griffin of the murder. He is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
On Friday, Davis County officials said Maughan's trial, which was scheduled for August, will be moved to 2nd District Court in Bountiful. Court records offer no explanation for moving the case.
A hearing is set for June 2.
