(KSL News) -- A small piece of plastic could help protect pedestrians on Salt Lake streets.
Salt Lake Mayor Rocky Anderson unveiled reflective wristbands today as part of the "Be Safe, Be Seen" campaign. The wristbands are free for all Salt Lake residents.
Rocky Anderson, Mayor of Salt Lake City: "We've got to do absolutely everything we can to make this as safe a city as possible for pedestrians."
Police and city leaders say the wristbands make pedestrians more visible to drivers at night.
Residents can pick up a band at city libraries, recreation centers or other city government offices.
