SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Orders issued by the Utah Public Service Commission will drop natural gas rates for Questar Gas Co., residential customers by 14 percent.

The commission issued the orders Thursday after a review of four cases.

Commission spokeswoman Julie Orchard says the rate drop represents and annual per-household savings of about $113.

This is the second rate decrease in less than a year.

The ruling also allows Questar to use company-owned gas, known as WEXPRO gas, in compressed natural-gas vehicles.

That reverses a Dec. 22, 2008 order to raise the price of compressed natural-gas to $1.43. Consumers can now expect the cost of compressed natural-gas to rise about 10 percent to roughly 88 cents.
