Keith McCord Reporting If you were driving past Lindquist Field in Ogden today, you didn't hear the sounds of a baseball game.
That's right-- no "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" there today. Instead, it was "When the Saints Go Marching In," played by several hundred harmonica players!
It didn't matter whether you had ever played a harmonica or not, you were still invited and encouraged to show up at Ogden's Lindquist Field today, to be a member of the world's largest harmonica band!
Darlene Thompson: "Free harmonicas, free lessons. You can't beat that. So here we are!"
This was an attempt to break the Guinness Book record for the largest harmonica band-- of 1,800. The goal today was 25-hundred players.
"I'm not much of a harmonica player."
That didn't matter. Enthusiasm and willingness to play in the key of A for five minutes is all that mattered. They didn't break the record today. About 12-hundred or so participated, but everyone had a good time!
Heidi Belka: "It's portable. You can put it in your back pocket, take it camping. It's really easy to learn."
They may try again next year to break the record.
