News ReleaseSalt Lake County - Seniors needing assistance with the upcoming conversion to a digital TV signal will be able to get extra help from Salt Lake County Aging Services. Aging Services will be providing "hands on" help to seniors through the end of March.
"There's a lot of confusion about what to do, when to do it, and where to get help," said Peter Hebertson, Aging Services Outreach Program Manager. "Our staff will be on hand to help seniors living in Salt Lake County navigate the entire process, including helping them hook up their new converter boxes."
Aging Services employees will help Salt Lake County seniors:
- Determine whether or not they need the digital TV converter box
- Provide information on how to apply for a $40 converter box coupon
- Assist homebound seniors in obtaining a converter box at local electronic outlets
- Assist in installing the converter box and provide an operational overview
Seniors who miss the February 17th deadline for the conversion to a digital TV signal will still be able to get the help they need through the end of March. Seniors needing help should call (801) 468-2480 to speak with an Aging Services staff person. (Courtesy Salt Lake County Aging Services)
Seniors in Davis County who need info or help connecting a converter box should call 451-3377 for help.
