WEST MOUNTAIN, Utah County — A 14-year-old girl is in critical condition and five others were injured on Friday after an off-road vehicle crashed in Utah County.

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. Friday in West Mountain, an area west of Payson. The 14-year-old girl was flown to a hospital in Salt Lake County, according to the Utah Department of Natural Resources.

The driver of the off-road vehicle, a 14-year-old boy, was transported to a Utah County hospital and then transferred to a Salt Lake County hospital with possibly significant injuries, the department said. Two other female passengers went to Utah County hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The final two passengers of the vehicle, a boy and a girl, sustained only minor injuries and remained on scene. The department said all of the vehicle's occupants are from Utah County.

Further information about what caused the vehicle rollover was not immediately available.
