SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's basketball team (6-4) travels to Logan, Utah, Monday for a 7 p.m. MT contest against the 8-1 Utah State Aggies.

The Runnin' Utes are looking for a second straight victory after snapping their three-game losing skid with a 74-64 victory against Weber State Saturday at home. Utah showed signs of rediscovering its shooting touch in the win, hitting 25-of-49 from the field (51%), the Utes' best outing since beating Oregon on Dec. 3.

Utah State enters Monday's game following three road victories. The Aggies' most recent winning streak began after its first and only falter of the season, a neutral-site loss to BYU. They have not played at home since Dec. 2. In their last action, the Aggies topped Idaho State in Pocatello, 67-57, on Saturday.

Utah leads the all-time series with the Aggies 129-91, while Utah State holds a 58-50 edge at home in Logan, Utah. The home team has won the last six meetings in this series. The Utes have not defeated Utah State in Logan since capturing a 60-41 win on Nov. 26, 1996, when both teams were members of the Western Athletic Conference.

Utah won a 72-48 decision in their last meeting, Dec. 5, 2007, in Salt Lake City. That contest saw Utah center Luke Nevill (Perth Australia) and Utah State forward Gary Wilkinson each tally a double-double. Nevill logged a game-highs with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Wilkinson went for 12 points and 10 boards.

Both players are now seniors and will look to get the better of each other for the final time. Nevill and Wilkinson each lead their respective teams in scoring and rebounding. Nevill is averaging 16.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while Wilkinson is scoring at a 17.7 ppg clip and grabbing 8.2 boards per contest.

Utah State is carrying a 16-game home winning streak and is 18-1 at home against in-state opponents under current head coach Stew Morrill.
