EAGLE MOUNTAIN — Police have arrested three juveniles after a shooting in Eagle Mountain on Tuesday evening that left one man with critical injuries.
The Utah County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Morgan Way and Wild Horse Way, according to a social media post late Tuesday night.
According to police, there was an altercation involving a group of adult and juvenile males.
"During said altercation, shots were fired and one adult male was injured," Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Ray Ormond said, adding that multiple suspects are in custody and there is no current danger to the public.
A man was flown to a nearby hospital in critical condition, deputies said.
Deputies "worked throughout the night" responding to the shooting, the sheriff's office said in an update Wednesday, adding that three juveniles were booked into Slate Canyon Youth Center, a juvenile detention center in Provo. The names of the suspects have not been released because of their age.
The man injured in Tuesday's shooting was moved to an intensive care unit, where he remains in critical condition but is "making improvement," deputies said. They said the man's identity would not be released.
Deputies believe the handgun used in the shooting was stolen from another jurisdiction. The investigation is ongoing.
