WHITE CITY — A man who police say is homeless was sentenced Monday to a year of probation for peeking into windows of a White City home for a month last year.
Alfredo Hernandez, 35, was charged in 3rd District Court in January with stalking and interfering with a police officer.
Police responded to a home in White City on Jan. 8 after surveillance cameras at the house recorded a man looking in the windows multiple times, charges state. The video also showed an illuminated cellphone propped up and pointing into a window where the homeowner said she routinely changed her clothes or showered, according to police.
"This has been a reoccurring problem at this address since Dec. 4 when the victim and her husband first noticed a male peeking into their bedroom window in the early morning hours," a police booking affidavit states.
Hernandez resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody after being shocked with a Taser, according to the charges. Hernandez has been arrested and convicted in California for similar crimes and does not have a "valid address for which a summons could be served," the charges state.
In July, Hernandez pleaded guilty to stalking, a class A misdemeanor. As part of a plea agreement, the interfering with a police officer charge was dropped.
Hernandez was sentenced to a year in jail, but 289 days of the term were suspended. The court then granted credit for the 75 days he has previously served in jail this year and ordered him to serve a year of probation.
