CHILLING WITH THE CATS — The life of an NFL player can be glamorous, with high salaries, regular play and the chance to earn a living as a professional athlete.
But there's something that bugs Jamaal Williams, the BYU all-time leading rusher now in his eighth season in the league.
Williams doesn't like long road trips; it takes too much time away from his cats.
"Never in my life have I ever stayed in a hotel for a month," he said recently. "My mental is done. I'm having fun with my team and everything, but I'm ready to go and see my cats, honestly. I got cats, and I know they're going crazy right now, wondering where dad is at. I'm ready to get home, honestly."
Hope @jswaggdaddy's cats are doing well 😂🐱🫶

Williams is coming off back-to-back preseason road games at Arizona and San Francisco, where the New Orleans Saints tailback ran for 32 yards on five carries (6.4 yards per carry). His former BYU teammate Taysom Hill also ran for 21 yards on five carries, including a 1-yard touchdown as a fullback in the 16-10 loss.
Williams has previously spoken fondly about his cats. The 29-year-old anime fan told WVUE in New Orleans last year that he's a simple man who just happens to play football for the Saints on a three-year, $12 million contract, according to Spotrac.
"After practice, I'm just more happy to go home and play with my cat. It gives me motivation, gives me peace. I'm good," Williams told the Louisiana FOX affiliate. "I got my cats, nothing can make me angry anymore. I got cats, leave me alone."
