ON THE EDGE — We all love our furry friends, but every pet owner can admit there are times when their presence might be less helpful and more of a nuisance (like my cat trying to help me put together a LEGO set by sliding pieces off the table).
But it's not often that they're a downright hazard.
That was the case for an adventurous mountain biker and her dog, who were on a cliffside bike trail in Calblanque Regional Park in Spain, as shown in the video.
The rider greets her dog as it approaches, but the narrowness of the trail causes the biker to adjust ever so slightly, slipping and sliding down a cliff in a brief but tense moment that caused me to hold my breath.
Luckily, she was able to stop her slide before plummeting down what looks like hundreds of feet of jagged rocks that eventually meet the ocean below.
It turns out the dog was also equipped with a camera, giving another harrowing look at what could've been, and luckily wasn't, a serious accident.
