THE ROLLER RINK — Everyone knows parrots can sometimes talk like humans, but did you know some have learned to roller skate like humans?
Neither did I, before seeing a video of a bright-green bird skating across the pavement while perched on a miniature pair of skates in Vietnam earlier this week. Sure, the bird wasn't moving very fast and could use a few pointers on its form, but it's an impressive achievement nonetheless.
I'm not sure how useful roller skates will prove as a means for transportation for members of a winged species, but if parrots continue to improve, it's possible we'll see a flock perform a dance routine during a future Super Bowl halftime show.
