SALT LAKE CITY — One man has been arrested following a knife fight that left both the suspect and victim injured.

Skyler Ryan Barr, 28, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault resulting in serious injury.

Salt Lake police responded to a report of a stabbing on Thursday. Officers found a man had been stabbed in the throat and back. The victim claimed that Barr had attacked him during a robbery attempt, according to a police booking affidavit.

Witnesses told police Barr had also been stabbed in the head and left the area on a bicycle. Police located Barr near 1600 West and 300 North.

"(He) spontaneously uttered, 'Was anybody hurt?' upon his arrest. I asked about why he would ask that and (he) stated that he 'had left the scene where I self-defended,'" police wrote in the affidavit.

A witnesses, however, told officers that Barr "had ridden up to victim and stabbed him first," the affidavit alleges.
