SALT LAKE CITY — Check back for the latest scores from all the Week 4 high school football games across the state.
KSL.com Sports' Game of the Week: West at Olympus
Why did we choose this game?
With an 0-2 record on the season and a current last-place standing in Region 6, West looks like a team in a lot of trouble on paper. But at KSL.com Sports, we still see the Panthers as one of the better teams in the state, but that's very conditional on how this week's road matchup against a 2-1 Olympus team goes.
The Panthers had a tough road test in California against a top-10 team in the state, and followed it up with another difficult test against American Fork in Week 3. But at some point, West needs to win a game, and a region matchup at Olympus could be such a scenario.
Olympus is no slouch, though. In Brandon Burt's first season with the program, he's got the Titans in contention with a 2-1 record, and wins over Bountiful and Spanish Fork, and was 2 points shy of being 3-0 on the season. Olympus averages 20.3 points per game, but the team may need a bit more against a West team that averages 24.0 points.
We expect this to be a fun matchup to start region play.
