ST. GEORGE — In the second consecutive week playing an out-of-state team, the Snow Canyon Warriors extended its winning streak to three games with a 38-14 victory over the Centennial Bulldogs Friday night.
The first quarter belonged to the Warriors from the beginning. Less than three minutes into the game, Max Reynolds scored his first rushing touchdown of the night, only to score another about two minutes later. The final score of the quarter came from a Talan Kelly pass into the arms of Konrad Green to put Snow Canyon on top 21-0.
A frustrated Bulldogs defense managed to slow down the Warriors briefly, holding them to a scoreless second quarter. Running back Ty Hanley chipped away at the deficit by scoring a touchdown to avoid being shut out in the first half.
The second half had Reynolds and Green each scoring one more touchdown apiece and a field goal by kicker Ammon Allred, who also went a perfect 5-of-5 on PAT attempts.
In a last-minute effort, Centennial's Hanley scored another rushing touchdown, but it was not enough. The game was called early with 3:30 left to play due to inclement weather.
Snow Canyon improved its record to 3-1 and will look to continue the hot streak next week in Cedar City. Centennial will head back home after taking its first loss on the season.
