KENTUCKY — Sometimes startling things happen in the blink of an eye. For example, consider this video of a man being spooked by a raccoon. The interaction occurred quickly, and then the man's heart rate returned to normal and he was able to laugh about it.
Other examples might include a cat darting out from under your parked car, a mouse scurrying across your kitchen floor or a bat swooping past your porch. Yes, it's jarring when an animal unexpectedly enters your life. But they usually don't linger.
That's what makes this video so unique — and so undeniably creepy.
I have no idea what kind of snake this is. There are more than 30 species found in Kentucky, where the footage is taken. Judging by how much time it took for the snake to make its way down the door, I'd estimate that this one was about 40 feet long. OK, that's an exaggeration. But it is definitely wild to see it slowly inching its way past the camera.
"Woke up and saw a notification that our doorbell camera had been activated overnight," explains the caption. "I was shocked, to say the least, when I pulled up the video and discovered what was recorded!"
It's a good thing the homeowner didn't hear the notification during the night and open the front door to investigate. That would've been one heck of a surprise.
