GLENDALE, Ariz. — They are sworn to protect and serve their residents. And sometimes, they're called upon to round up runway livestock.

The Fourth of July holiday weekend got off to an interesting start for officers in two states where animals typically found on a farm — namely a pair of goats and large potbelly pig — got loose in local neighborhoods.

In Glendale, Arizona, officers were called on July 1 to help round up a pair of goats on the loose in a neighborhood. Body camera video of the chase and successful capture was recently released.

That incident came just two days after officers in Louisville, Kentucky, were called to help capture a wayward potbelly pig. The large pig, named Mr. BaconBits, kept officers and neighbors on their toes — and sometimes on their backs — as they tried to stop the elusive pig.

The Louisville Metro Police Department also recently released body cam video of the attempt to take Mr. BaconBits into custody.
