THE KITCHEN — I love burritos. They can be made to fit nearly any occasion. Breakfast burrito? Check. To-go burrito on your way to work? Check. Dessert burrito? Oh yes, it's a thing.
The big question: What's the world record for eating this tortilla-wrapped treasure?
Guinness World Records reports that Leah Shutkever set a record for eating a burrito in 32.35 seconds in February 2022.
Not only does Shutkever consume it quickly, she does with amazing control.
This isn't some rushed effort to force it down. This was controlled, choreographed and well executed. In short, it was a burrito ballet.
Shutkever said in a YouTube video this was the second time she beat her own world record.
Not having much time to hold down that record, just a few months later, speed eater Miki Sudo managed the feat in 31.47 seconds, beating Shutkever's record.
Sudo's method was different than Shutkever's, but clearly effective.
Sudo's husband is also a competitive eater, holding the record for eating the most hot dogs in three minutes.
