SALT LAKE CITY — The arena where the Utah Jazz play has had a few names over the years, but if you're like my mom, it has always been the Delta Center. And now the building is restored with a brand-new Delta Center sign.
A time-lapse video the Jazz posted on Twitter on Friday shows workers putting up new lighted letters on the outside of the arena formerly known as Vivint.

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian announced the name change in January, marking July 1 as the day the arena would officially be called the Delta Center once more. The Utah Jazz entered into a long-term naming rights deal with the airline to restore the original name to the arena that opened in 1991.
The building was the Delta Center for 15 years, until 2006 when it became EnergySolutions Arena for almost a decade. In 2015, the building was changed to Vivint Smart Home Arena, but "Smart Home" was dropped from the name in 2020.
Vivint will remain a partner with the Jazz following the name change; the company has entered into a new partnership agreement that will extend through the 2030 season.
The original naming-rights deal was set to expire in 2025. With the new deal, Vivint will keep the rights to a courtside suite and will also have a presence inside the arena with in-game promotions and advertising.
Even though the arena's name changed, many Utahns never stopped calling it the Delta Center. Now all the people who loved the '90s Delta Center will no longer have to deal with their children correcting them every time they say the building's name.
