WEST JORDAN — Three people, including a 17-year-old boy, are facing criminal charges in connection with what police say was a drug deal that ended in a stabbing.

Isiah Maleek Duquenoy, 19, of Salt Lake City, and Camdon William Martinez, 18, of Herriman, were both charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. A 17-year-old boy is also listed as a co-defendant, but as of Tuesday afternoon he had not been charged in district court. KSL.com has chosen not to release the boy's name at this time.

On July 20, West Jordan police were called to Jordan Valley Medical Center after a stabbing victim was brought to the hospital. The man said he and a friend arranged over Snapchat to sell marijuana to another person, according to charging documents.

When the victim arrived at an area near 4500 West and 9000 South, he met with the three defendants and "they argued about the transaction," police allege. After Duquenoy was arrested, he told detectives that the argument started when the 17-year-old tried to pay for the marijuana with counterfeit money, but the victim "pulled a $20 bill from his pocket to compare the money and it was noticeably fake," the charges state.

During the argument, the 17-year-old boy pulled out a knife, held it to the victim's neck and then stabbed the victim in the stomach and cut his arm, according to the charges. Duquenoy also told police that they had already begun running when the 17-year-old "turned back, grabbed (the victim) by the shoulder and began stabbing him at least two times."

Police say the three suspects then fled the area and got onto a TRAX train. Utah Transit Authority police spotted the trio using surveillance video and were able to detain them.

Arrest warrants were issued for Duquenoy and Martinez on Tuesday. Prosecutors have requested that both be held without bail in the Salt Lake County Jail once they are arrested. Court documents note that Martinez is a documented gang member "and has extensive history of law enforcement encounters."
