SPOKANE, Wash. — Weather delays aren't unusual in the world of sports. The BYU game against South Florida is a recent example. Whether it's lightning, high winds or golf ball-sized hailstones, the prudent option is sometimes to just hunker down for a while.

But a football game between Cheney and Gonzaga Prep in Washington got put on hold for a reason you might not have seen before. Check out the video:

Here's what I think happened. A mother deer brought her two children out to the edge of the forest to watch their favorite team, the Cheney Blackhawks, take on Gonzaga Prep.

Caught up in the intensity of the game, the young deer burst out of the trees in order to show off their moves and to intimidate those jerks from Gonzaga Prep.

Mortified, the mother deer sprang from the safety of the trees and tried to corral her children. It was no easy task, given their rambunctiousness and the size of the field.

Luckily, order was eventually restored and the game was allowed to continue. No word yet on whether or not the deer received college offers.
