YOUR CELLPHONE — When you get a text message, do you ever feel like dancing to the tune of the "ding?"

If you do, you're in good company, but I am not part of that "company."

When my phone dings, I brace myself for a text from my 12-year-old daughter asking me to pick her up from school in a series of spam texts that often end with MOM in all capital letters because when I don't respond, I get spammed.

If you know, you know.

Also, as a breaking news reporter, when my phone dings, it's often a signal that something terrible has happened in our community. And sorry for the real-life version of my real life that paints a picture for you of why I don't dance when my phone makes an alerting noise.

Hashtag: Respect breaking news reporters because it's a hard job.

Even though PTSD sets in when a noise comes from my mobile device, it doesn't mean that others can't enjoy a good jig – or better yet – choreograph moves to text message tones.

Cost n' Mayor is a husband-wife choreographing duo who have managed to work some dancing magic on some classic ringtones such as "note," "bell," "alert," and "chime" in their video titled "Text tones if they were dance moves." And, boy do they deliver on the moves, if I might say so myself.

While my "dance" may be more of a grimace when I hear the ding, that doesn't mean that I can't live vicariously through a magnificent dancing team that has managed to turn the dread into something worth shaking your hips to. Who knows? Taking my cue from these two might put a smile on my face when I text my daughter that "NO" in all caps. Because after all, a happy "NO" trumps an angry one, even if she doesn't know the difference.
