SPANISH FORK — One person was killed and two more were injured early Wednesday in a crash on U.S. 6, troopers said.

The crash was reported about 8:15 a.m. near the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon.

"It appears to be a semi and a car involved and it is blocking all of (U.S. 6). Traffic is closed in both directions. Estimated closure time is one to two hours but could be longer," the Utah Highway Patrol said in a statement.

The other two people in the crash had injuries that did not appear life-threatening, troopers said.
